Prem Rawat - Maharaji - Notes on Peace - Library of Foreign Literature, Moscow Notes on Peace - Library of Foreign Literature, Moscow [15:07 min] On June 29, 2012, Prem Rawat addressed as keynote speaker at an event called Notes on Peace, held at Moscow's nationally renowned Library of Foreign Literature. The event was co-sponsored by Synergy, Moscow University of Business and Finance (MUIF); and the Ismail Akhmetov Foundation. The Library of Foreign Literature, as well as housing five million books in one hundred and forty-five languages, acts as a center for cultural and international relations.

On his first visit to Russia, Prem Rawat was greeted by some of Moscow's leading academics and university students interested in exploring the subject of peace. Opening the event was a virtuoso pianist who played a beautiful Tchaikovskymoscow sonata, giving a uniquely Russian ambience at the library theatre.

The Rector of Synergy University, Professor Uriy Rubin then addressed the audience, talking about the history of the young university, the subjects taught, and its interest in peace. Ismail Akhmetov gave a warm introduction and welcome to Prem Rawat.

Prem Rawat spoke in simple terms, making the point that people look to world leaders to bring peace, but in reality it already exists within each person. He illustrated this perspective with stories and facts that were deeply appreciated by the audience.
Prem Rawat - Maharaji - Stories for Peace Stories for Peace [14:49 min] For a lot of people the question becomes, "What is peace?"
It is individual human beings, who need the peace. Who will benefit? We will benefit. Our future generations will benefit. A place they can proudly call their own, is the rarest thing around for miles and miles. I don't want to give you false hope. And I never said peace on this earth is going to be easy.
When they were deciding on how to go to the moon, a lot of people said it cannot be done. The trip to the moon was successful not because of people who said it cannot be done. But it was made successful by people who said it can be done. Every climb begins with a step. Every ladder has the first rung. Every stair has the first step. And yes, you can take it. Let us know just hope, but do whatever we can, to bring peace on this earth.

Prem Rawat - Maharaji - Simply Amazing! Simply Amazing! [10:37 min] Is it possible for me in my life to keep such a company of that one most beautiful thing that I begin to take on the traits of it. Thats the significance of what I am saying. That if I in my life allow and keep the company of ignorance then I too, will take on, the characteristics of ignorance. I just said that maybe this will give us hope and this is what I mean by giving us hope that if I keep the company of clarity, then I too in my life will begin to take on the characteristics, the qualities of clarity. Thats the hope.
For me, if I want to have that beautiful aroma of understanding in my life, then I need to keep the company of understanding. That if I want to glow in the glow coming from the brightness then I too need to keep the company of the light. If I do, it is possible to pick up on those characteristics. And if this is remotely possible. Just happens to be this much true. Wow! What a possibility exists in my life.
One thing Kabir does say, that the master is a washerman and the student is the cloth. The soap, is knowledge. And when on the stone of practice, this cloth is washed with that soap of knowledge again and again and again and again. The cloth begins to sparkle. Lot of people think that the invention of cloth-washing soap, the concept, the big advertising, "It Sparkles", came recently. No, the idea of the sparkling cloth came a long time ago. But it was’nt just a piece of cloth of cotton, it was you. And look at it in its entirety, without giving it interpretation. What Kabir is saying is, you need to sparkle, you need to shine bright. Because that is your potential, that is your possibility.
Listen to the human being that you are. What is your need? Your truest need is to be content. Thats your truest need. That there is a thirst that each one of you has. And you may not be aware of it. But you know about it. A quest to be fulfilled, to be in peace. And how beautiful is that. Keep the right company and you will take on, soak in the traits. Then keep the company of knowledge. Keep the company of remembrance of this breath and you will begin to remember this breath. Keep the company of light and you will begin to glow in that light. This is what you need to do. Because this is the true transformation of human being, transforming back to being a "Being", a true being, existence. Not all the other things that happen.
To be in this life, to be simple. To be in this life, to be conscious. You want to avoid problems in your life, just be conscious. One second of being conscious, can save you a whole lifetime of trouble. Just one second. Knowledge is a powerful thing, amazingly powerful. You have it. Listening to the master is an amazinlgly powerful thing and this is available to you.

Prem Rawat - Maharaji - Salvage Salvage [09:54 min] To come and be inspired, because I have touched in you the true voice of reason, that the reason is from your heart. Thats what inspiration is. Inspiration is to touch that voice of reasoning, that reason spelled by the heart.
When you leave this world, what do you think you will take with you, when you wont even be able to your own body. Such a definitive distinction between that real you and the you you think you are. Now why am I telling you this? To scare you, No. This is what is going to happen. The idea is to take as much as possible, salvage as much as possible, before this happens.
Prem Rawat - Maharaji - Success Success [09:44 min] This event was recorded on July 23, 2009 in a television studio in Bristol, England. An enthusiastic group of university students and young professionals requested the opportunity to meet with Prem Rawat in a casual setting to speak candidly with him about his work in the world. Following is a question which one of the students asked him about success, and Maharaji answered the perfect way.

Question: First of all, I just want to say thanks for what you do. It is really encouraging to see that someone would spend so much time to make peace. And I think you do, and I want to say thanks for that. My question is to someone who wants to have a successful life. I guess my question is what you consider to be real success and how that might relate to peoples ambitions and their career.

Maharaji: Well, you know success is when you feel successful. There could be people who, by the definition of this world are extremely successful. But they don’t feel successful, so they have to succeed by pushing themselves even more, and more, and more and more.
You read these stories, once in a while, they come out, and they are like so and so killed themselves. And you go, wait a minute, the person was such a good actor, he was so accoomplished, he was so good, his career was just taking off, how could he do that. You know, you looked at the list of the world that said well, this person was successful, but that person did not feel successful. Then you might have a farmer who has not much. May be, no education, nothing in terms of worldly possesssions and may be, not even a long list of ambitions, but one day he goes out and he looks at his crop and its just beautiful. Just golden wheat, waving in the wind, not a cloud in the sky. The crop is almost ready. Everything is good and it brings a smile to his face because he has succeeded. He feels the success.
You can always try to say, I need to be successful in this world. But first of all, first thing is first, are you successful as a human being? Because if you are not successful as a human being, it does not matter what you have gathered. What you have accomplished. You are not going to feel successful.
So, what does it mean to be successful as a human being? Well, it begins with those simple things. The ability to enjoy and to use that ability. The ability to be kind and to use the ability to be kind. See this is the thing and you have this. And it isn’t a question of, I wish I was kinder. Well you have more kindness in you than you will ever need. But do you consciously use that kindness. You have in you all the clarity that you could ever, ever want or desire, but will you use that? And we become very good, at anger, we become very good, at judgement. Everybody judges us, we turn around judge everybody else. I am not this, or I am this, or I have done this, or I haven’t done this, I want to do this and so we come with a list and off course the world just chips in. Yes, yes, yes, yes.
Right now, this particular time, started few months ago and its really interesting because that word "Success" has come to a grinding halt. All these people, who were just, were successful. I mean there was not a question if they weren’t successful. Their report card said A++++. They were the ones who were literally setting the bar that all of us would aspire to be at. All of a sudden went into a tizzy. Some actually committed suicide. Some are in jail. Some are packing to go to jail. Fortunes have been destroyed and people are wondering what happened. Well, would you say, could those people, even in their bad situation, could they feel successful? Well, no, not when you look at the report card of the world. They are bad people. All of a sudden, they have turned from successful to really bad people. But they are still human beings, they are still alive. Does that mean anything?
We have jails, prisons overflowing around the world. Are they not people? Are they not human beings? Do they have no good in them? Because potentially, we all carry the good and carry the bad. It is our conscious decision that makes the difference. Whether we judge or don’t judge, it is our conscious decision, whether we commit a crime or don’t, or try not to.
And this is that realm, that is of great interest to me. Because if you are successful as a human being, you’ve got it. You have got it made. If you want to be a magician, thats fine, but thats your gift. That is your exploration of the gift that you have. See, I believe everybody has a gift, we need to find what that is and get on with it. And you may ultimately, one day, play so well, so well that you like it. And it may not bring you all the fame in the world. The gold discs, and the platinum discs, nothing. But you enjoy it. Would you consider that to be successful or unsuccessful. I would consider that to be successful.
