Excerpts from Events

Prem Rawat - Maharaji - Prem Rawat asked to define peace Prem Rawat asked to define peace [02:45 min] On the 23rd of May 2013, Prem Rawat spoke at the UWC Red Cross Nordic college in Flekke, Norway to an audience of students and faculty.
Prem Rawat - Maharaji - Leicester event with Prem Rawat in 2008 Leicester event with Prem Rawat in 2008 [04:53 min] Speaking at Leicester Maharaji said,
“So here we are in the spring of 2008 and the tussle is on. On one side, the winter does not want to let go of its hold. On the other side, the summer, the warmth wants to break in.

On the ground are all these delicate, beautiful little plants, they are very delicate, they are fragile. Last year during the fall, they took a gamble and their gamble was, Winter will come and to survive the winter, we would need to shed our leaves, so they did.

But the true gamble was not the winter. The true gamble was that Summer will come again. And once summer comes we will be able to get on our leaves, and once again be complete.

So now they have been ready, prepared and the slightest hint of this summer coming has spurned them to start putting those leaves up.
I don’t know if you have noticed the same. But these delicate leaves, ready to make that commitment to being complete. If you have observed this then my question to you is simply this,
If spring were to come, are you too ready to bloom? Are you prepared to bloom? Are you ready for the spring in your life?

Because if you are, prepared, if you are ready, then I have some very good news for you and the news is,

Spring indeed has come!.”
Prem Rawat - Maharaji - Magnificent Monk Magnificent Monk [04:06 min] The good news is "What you are looking for, is inside of you". This is the best news. If a mother loses her child, her fear is that something bad might happen. If someone informs her just this much- your child is fine. This alone is sufficient for that mother to feel calm. The journey to peace is not a solemn one. The journey to peace is full of enthusiasm and newness and discovery and openness and feeling beautiful. Some people say, to find peace you need to join monastery- No. If you want to find peace, go inside this monastery (pointing to the heart). Search if you need to, and if you don't find- look within. If you need way to look within, look me up!
Prem Rawat - Maharaji - Five seconds of Heaven Five seconds of Heaven [03:02 min] Prem Rawat speaking in Salvador, Brazil
Try this- it works, believe me. When you go home, try it. Five seconds of heaven. If you have children/husband/wife at home, try to make five seconds of heaven for them. What would make five seconds of heaven for a husband- this is what's amazing. It's not breakfast. Listen.
And the day you want to make five seconds of heaven for yourself, listen to your heart.
Prem Rawat - Maharaji - Berkeley University- California Berkeley University- California [02:23 min] Speaking to a distinguished set of guests, faculty and the students at University of California, Berkeley, Maharaji said:
What I am talking about is very very simple. In a way it's about you. But not in a way that you have heard it before because people come and address other people. And what is talked about is how it could be. And I am not here to talk about that. What I have to talk about is, How it is!
Everything that you need to make the dream come true, you already have. It is within you. And this is a wonderful and exciting reality. Recognize what you have been given.
I am not here to tell you how to lead your life. What I am here to tell you do whatever you have to but do not forget the thirst of your heart. Don't forget your innate call. Don't forget your own nature of who you are. Don't forget the gem of a treasure that you have been given. Find the unchangeable and you too can enjoy this ride of life like you never imagined.
Prem Rawat - Maharaji - The Grand Illusion- Maya The Grand Illusion- Maya [09:21 min] This is not about the books, this is not about the explanations. The people who are caught up in the explanation are going to need more explanations. Am I wrong? You think all the explanations that have been written 200 years ago, 300 years ago, 2000 years ago would have been sufficient. You think that is sufficient? People are still writing them. People are still interpreting and trying to figure out, what was 'really' said! Do you think its going to stop anytime soon? No. People will go on explaining to you, what was really meant when the word was used. And you, you want nothing better than a predigested package- feed it to me! This is how most people are! There are a lot of people who're going to buy the new iPhone. But they're never going to read the manual. And for years they're going to go around, till they find somebody else who has an iPhone and has also read the manual, and go "How do you do it?"

Whoever can explain to you this, of how everything happens, is not telling the truth. Because; it cannot be explained. We forget our very humanness, that we are human beings. So many have come before us. We are tantalized by technologies, 'oh its different now'. Is it? What has all this technology got to do with your humanness. Your humanness has nothing to do with it. Your sorrow, your joy will not be affected by all of this. This was dubbed long time ago, there was a word given to it- Grand Illusion 'Maya'. People still don't understand on how could this be an illusion. They even make jokes about it being illusion. It is an illusion because it is here today, and gone to tomorrow. What seemed to be forever, is gone. And where? No one knows. Right in front of your eyes, a day is gone, the biggest magician plays his grand effects. A day is gone, and a life is gone- and nobody applauds of how wonderful that little illusion was. Because this is not an illusion, because this is not an illusion. What is gone- is not coming back. Thats why you need to be conscious in this life.
Prem Rawat - Maharaji - Coming and Going of Breath Coming and Going of Breath [05:41 min] You want to know how to recognize the miracle, then understand that today is the miracle, and tomorrow when it comes will be a miracle. Your breath is a miracle. If you don't know what you have, how will you know what is lost? You need to know what you have. And you have so much.

Path to inner peace begins with just that- opening your eyes, and looking. And seeing things as they are. Not how could it. Not how it should it. But as it is.

So much, so much goes on. So many ideas come. And you little boat is sailing down the river. I say to you "Captain, wake up!" This is not the time to dream my friend. Wake up. Look, look where you're going. If you don't, disaster is inevitable. Thats not what you need to have in your life. Everyday should be a celebration.

Have you ever seen a sunflower? A sunflower does not have GPS, or maps, or big instruments. But somehow this flower turns at night, and is ready for the sun. Will it be a cloudy day? Don't know, it's just ready. It's facing the right direction for the sun to come. And whether sun is visible or not, it just follows and follows the sun. All the clouds don't stop the sunflower. Because ultimately, its not the clouds that are permanent. It is the relationship with the sun. And the time comes, clouds clear. And once again the sunflower is tracking the sun.
Prem Rawat - Maharaji - The Pot and the Gardener The Pot and the Gardener [09:28 min] Speaking in Brisbane Australia, Prem Rawat, known by the honorary title Maharaji, and around the world as the ambassador of peace, narrates a touching story of a pot and a gardener in context of the obvious.
What you're looking for, in your life, is already there. What does it mean to be alive? You got today, it's almost over. God-willing, you will have tomorrow. But what does that mean? Do you look at it, as I'm alive today. Or do you look as if you don't care?
Prem Rawat - Maharaji - Preserving the unpreservable Preserving the unpreservable [02:53 min] Prem Rawat speaking in Los Angeles California, USA.
You don't understand what young is? There is only one thing that can be young, and it stays young forever. And that is inside of you. You're trying to preserve what is un-preservable.
Prem Rawat - Maharaji - With the Heart of a Child With the Heart of a Child [08:29 min] We have certain natures. We have the ability to feel pain. When something painful is placed in front of us, what it triggers is pain. When our hopes, and dreams, and ideals, and our little castle of sand. When somebody comes and plays with it, we don't like it. When hope is taken away, we don't like it. Where do you wanna be? Wherever you've decided to be be, may be more painful than current scenario.

What do you want? Do you know what drives you, what inspires you? What is this thing that doesn't like hopelessness. What in you wants real peace? Why are you attracted to truth? What is this truth business? This microphone is black (pointing to microphone in front). This is truth right? So you felt peace? You felt the salvation? Did you feel free? This chair is almost neutral gray. So are you free? You feel free now? Did you see God? See, that may be true, but that's not The Truth. If our consciousness is plugged into that, then it would bring not just joy, but supreme joy- Joy unparalleled. And methinks, that's what we should be passionate about. That if we were, the flood gates would open.

To understand the ultimate truth. Because the ultimate truth is so simple, that you have to be utterly simple to understand that. How simple? How simple? With the heart of a child! What does a child have that you don't. You have more of everything- older, more hair (some!). Child has simplicity. You don't. Careful, you do not qualify! So if you want to experience that passion, you will have to have a heart of a child. That means not doing, but undoing!
