Excerpts from Events

Prem Rawat - Maharaji - Magnificent Monk Magnificent Monk [04:06 min] The good news is "What you are looking for, is inside of you". This is the best news. If a mother loses her child, her fear is that something bad might happen. If someone informs her just this much- your child is fine. This alone is sufficient for that mother to feel calm. The journey to peace is not a solemn one. The journey to peace is full of enthusiasm and newness and discovery and openness and feeling beautiful. Some people say, to find peace you need to join monastery- No. If you want to find peace, go inside this monastery (pointing to the heart). Search if you need to, and if you don't find- look within. If you need way to look within, look me up!
Prem Rawat - Maharaji - A big and loaded statement, I think! A big and loaded statement, I think! [04:06 min] Whatever you're looking for... This is a big statement, it's loaded and it's big. It's very profound, I think! Whatever it is you're looking for, is inside of you. Why is it profound? How does the person who made this statement knew what you're looking for? It's a big assumption, right? It's infact a huge assumption saying that we're all looking for the same thing. Could it be? That we're all looking for the same thing? We call it different things, but we're looking for the same thing.

That peace, some people call it peace, God, Joy. You know what Kabir said about this? Kabir said that there's only one well and everybody comes to this well to fetch the water. The difference is of the vessels. But the water is the same in all the vessels. So somebody brings bucket, plain pot, hand-beaten pot, clay pot. Pots may be different but the water in the pot is the same because it comes from the same well.

We cannot thrive on our difference forever. Differences are good and they should be appreciated. But they should not be the basis of our functioning in this world. You look a little different that me- Good! Easy to recognize you and easy to recognize me! If we all look exactly alike it would be like, who am I looking for!

But don't forget that we all came from the place, landed on the same port, din't we? It's only one port- Port Earth. Could it be, we have the same mission? I think so. I think so. I think so.

And the mission is to be fulfilled.
Prem Rawat - Maharaji - At Oxnard, California- Moments & Birthday At Oxnard, California- "Moments & Birthday" [04:05 min] Prem Rawat, commonly known as Maharaji, questions what the source of inspiration is in this life, suggesting that there is more, and that more is beautiful. You can actually look forward to it. Birthdays are something you look forward to. Though the meaning of birthday is that certain number of years in your life are over. But is it about mortality, or there is more? A moment just went by, and it means more than all the years, because all the years that went by, came as the moments called now.
Prem Rawat - Maharaji - Chances of living life in joy Chances of living life in joy [03;49 min] What you talk seems practical. But how we do get peace in this day and age full of competition?
Prem Rawat - Maharaji - Where the story begins! Where the story begins! [03:59 min] Where does this journey begin? Where does the story begin? It begins with you.
Because this is about that sweet simplicity. How would like your story to begin?
Do you want you want your story to begin "Once upon a time" or would you like your story to begin "Once there is! Living- breathing- most unique person, on the face of this earth". There is no one like you. No one can smile like you.
It is the joy, the gratitude, the expression that makes you unique!
Prem Rawat - Maharaji - The wind and the sun The wind and the sun [03:59 min] There are certain things we cannot help. Just can't help! Control is not the issue, but because we are human. There is a little story. One day there was a competition between the sun and the wind. Who is more powerful. Wind said "I'm more powerful". They saw a guy walking along the road. Wind said "Whoever can take off his jacket, wins.". Sun asked the wind to try his best. The more wind tried, the more the guy clutched to his jacket. When the sun's turn came it simply shone. When the sun shone, the guy took of his jacket.

There are certain natures in us. We can all become angry, but nobody likes anger. We can all become sad, but nobody likes sadness. Just look at the one quality- you cannot bear pain even a bit. Joy? No limit!
Prem Rawat - Maharaji - The Ability to Be Happy The Ability to Be Happy [03:58 min] I ask you, "Does your ability to feel contentment actually ever vary?" The answer to it is "No". The ability to feel that joy in your life doesn't vary. So let's stop for a second. Hmmm, the ability does not vary, but the joy that I feel does vary. I would be a hypocrite to say to you "Yes, 24x7 365 days a year, I'm in complete bliss" I'm not going to tell you this, because that's not true. Things happen. So what does that mean? It means that I can actually make an effort and feel that joy- far more than I ever imagined. Just simple, I want to feel a gratitude when I wake up, that I'm alive. That is blessing- this breath is coming in and out of me. I can find my joy within me.
Prem Rawat - Maharaji - Seed of Kindness Seed of Kindness [03:51 min]
When we come in this world, We are given seeds. And this is of course a metaphor
But its true that we are human beings. But the opportunity truly is, what we do with these seeds. And what are these seeds?
Well we can begin with very simple stuff. One of the seeds can be the seed of kindness, There is a seed of love, there is a seed of understanding, and there is a seed of doubt, there is a seed of confusion. And it always becomes- whatever seed it is that you have sown in your garden- garden of life, garden of existence, then ultimately this is what you are going to sit under and rest, and how restful it will be, directly depends, on what kind of seed you sow.
So every seed that you have, has a particular quality, has something that it offers, but when it is sown, and when it bears itself, when it grows and becomes a tree, it is going to have very particular characteristics which you may or may not like.
I am not here to pass judgement, nor am I here to try to advertise what kind of seed it is that you should have sown.
I think that if I merely point out some of the characteristics of these, then you are capable of making that decision for yourself, that fundamentally being human, you have enough intelligence to choose from clarity, to choose what will benefit you the most, each one of us within ourselves, carries an innate need and this need is never dictated by the world, it is our need, and it is fundamental to every human being.
This is the need that we have when we were young, it is the need that will stay there throughout our lives and will be there till the very end.
This is who we are- This is one of our natures.
Prem Rawat - Maharaji - It’s About You and Me It’s About You and Me [03:51 min] I am here to talk about something very simple but at the same time it touches every one of us and it is about this journey, this life, this existence. Not an idea, not a theory, not rules, not some printed pages but about you and me. Because the most incredible thing thats taking place is not all the things that you read in the newspaper, it is not a thing which is there in your library. And this important thing is that "You are alive!", now what? What does it mean to you? We have interpretations of what it means to be alive. The focus is not about those things, the focus is your existence, your being on the face of this earth. This will never happen again. The house that you live in, other ones will live in it. What is yours? What is it that you consider truly yours that no one can take away from you? Do you know it?
Prem Rawat - Maharaji - What is the Source of Your Inspiration? What is the Source of Your Inspiration? [03:44 min] In this clip, Prem Rawat known commonly as Maharaji questions what the source of inspiration is in this life, suggesting that existence itself should be the inspiration in a persons life.
