Prem Rawat - Maharaji - Andheri Sports complex Mumbai Andheri Sports complex Mumbai [41:54 min] Maharaji explained that all people have needs. Some are basic needs such as thirst, hunger, or sleep that need to be satisfied. Numerous businesses have been created to satisfy these needs. In many ways it could be said that the world is need-driven. On the other hand, many needs, he said, have been created by society, and it is society that tells us we should fulfill them. Trying to fulfill these needs that are not our real needs often becomes stressful. We long for more money or for a better job, but these are not our fundamental needs. They are dictated by the society, and they will never be satisfied completely. He explained that the true need is the need that the heart believes to be true. Since we cannot fulfill all our needs, at least we need to fulfill the one main need we can fulfill, the one need that the heart knows to be true.

The true need, he said, is within the heart, and it is up to the heart to say what it is. It needs to be experienced for oneself. Unless peace is experienced in the heart, he continued, a person will remain unsatisfied. When the heart is at peace, on the other hand, the need to satisfy a long list of needs is replaced by an expression of gratitude for being alive.

He added that however deep the darkness may be, a lamp is always burning within us, and that within us are the answers that we are looking for. We search for questions because we think they will lead us to answers, but at some point we need to search for answers. If we find answers without the questions, he concluded, that would be very good.
Prem Rawat - Maharaji - Is Parmanand just a word or an experience? Is Parmanand just a word or an experience? [41:30 min] There are two things that call out to you: Your heart, and your mind.
There has been calling from the heart, and you need to recognize that. People get more into naming it. What lies in the name? If I call by any other name, will it stop shining for me? Whatever name I use to call the creator, it won't make a difference. The nature doesn't care about the name.
In my life 'parmanand' is not just a theory. It is experience for me. In your life too 'parmanand' shouldn't be just a word; you have experience of parmanand. There's a been a lot about the word. It's time for experience now.

I'm talking about the thing which keeps going on in you, whether you're happy, or whether you're sad. It goes regardless of everything else. What is it?
He Ram, tere naam ka mujhko aadhar hai
Andhe ko jaise laakdi
Tan ka sahaar hai

When sadness comes in people's life, they need support. There are a lot of people who tell how to prevent sadness. But master says "Sadness will come anyways."
Nanak Dukhiya sub sansara
Sukhiya kewal naam adhaara

Will it rain? Yes it will. If not today, tomorrow! And when it happens, will you have the umbrella or not? If you've the umbrella, you won't get wet. I'm referring rain to sadness. The day you will have to get wet, you'll pin-point and blame everyone for your sadness. You won't even spare God. But you'll be the real reason for the situation.
Prem Rawat - Maharaji - Science city auditorium Kolkata (Calcutta) Science city auditorium Kolkata (Calcutta) [41:00 min] Event was held in Calcutta (kolkata) in science city auditorium, primarily for college students. At the end of cheerful talk by Maharaji, students asked many questions to him. His rock solid answer with love only them gasping for more.

Q: Many of us are becoming spiritual in order to search peace of mind. Do you think we are becoming selfish, or is it some kind of divine planning?

A: Selfish is so relative! When we have the luxury of sitting somewhere. Then is it like selfish? If my action deprives somebody of something, then it selfish. But when I am going to discover myself, not the other person; who am I depriving of what? Secondly, the creator has given you gift of breath- Now give this to somebody else! You can't! Even if you want to, you can't. Is that selfish? It is NOT selfish. It is what it is. To search for yourself is not selfish, because you are not depriving anybody of anything.

Q: Maharaji, my question is "What is true joy, and how can we experience this in our life"

A: It is within you.
Aatam anubhav gyaan ki, jo koi pooche baat
So gunga gud khaaye ke, kahe kaun mukh swaad!

How can I describe the experience of knowledge. When I cannot explain you the taste of Kiwi Fruit, how can I explain you the feeling of Self-Knowledge! You have to experience it yourself. This is the possibility. That is why it is so exciting! This is not a philosophy. I have not come to say "do this and that", and then disappear. No. I am not here to give you give an hour lecture "You should find the God within you. Ok kid bye!"
"Nai, Main apne saare shubdon ke peeche hoon"- I backup up every word I say!
And that is what makes it so exciting. Around the world - Saare Sansaar ke andar, Main logon ko ye dikhata hoon, batata hoon, aur anubhav karata hoon (I show this to people, tell them, and also make them experience this)!
Prem Rawat - Maharaji - Maharaji in Mumbai- 25th Nov, 2009 Maharaji in Mumbai- 25th Nov, 2009 [39:56 min] You can never compare the peace and happiness which resides in your heart with the one you get from the world. There is no comparison between the two. One is permanent, the other is temporary. If you love the divine one who dwells in your heart then, he would keep on bestowing his love and kindness on you. That giver, the supreme being that resides in your heart gives the gift of breath to those who have faith on him and even the ones who do not have faith on him. He is the true giver.
Today people have drawn so many lines of discrimination. I am a Hindu, I am a Sikh. No one is a human being. Begin to respect yourself as a human being first.
Kabira kuwan ek hai, paani bhare anek.
Bhaande ka hi bhed hai, paani sab mein ek.

There is only one place, there is only one well, where people come to fill water. This body is a vessel. The only difference is in the vessel. The same water fills all the vessels. God is one. Open the eyes of your heart, then you would realize the value of this knowledge and this breath. Then there would be peace in your life.
Prem Rawat - Maharaji - Jeevan ka maqsad Jeevan ka maqsad [34:27 min] In this world, people try various ways to stay away from problems. If they have pain in back, they run around to find ways to lessen it. Poor run around to become rich. But i say you are a human being. You are a blessing of the God himself. You are not made by just someone, or made in China, made in India, or Made in USA.

Someone asked me if I believe in process of evolution. I said God created nature and the nature created us. The creator created the process of evolution. The creator has created you through the medium of evolution. And everything has been created for a reason. People can argue that if eyes were on the leg, then walking would have been easier. But there is a reason to put eyes on the head. You are given two ears so that you don't only hear, but also know the origin of the sound. You have given two eyes so that not only can you see, but also understand the depth of the object. Know the fact, that God himself has created you. He has not done one, but many many favors to you. People say to God to prove if he exists. And he is proving himself through each breath you breath!
Nar tan bhav vaaridh kahoon beru
san mukh maroot anugrah mero

The coming and going of this breath is my blessings on you!
karun dhaar satguru dridh nawa
durlabh karya sulabh kari paava

People wait for their lottery ticket to become lucky. The day you were born, your lottery ticket just got lucky!
Prem Rawat - Maharaji - Main kaun hoon? Main kaun hoon? [32:37 min] There are two questions
1) Why am I here?
2) Who am I?
So I started thinking on which one of the two is better question. If you get to know on who you're, then it won't be long before you understand on what I'm doing here.

Let me first introduce you, to you. So far you've been introduced to others. All things that are manufactured, like cellphone, address books, computers etc; what do we use it for? To learn about other's contacts. So what is our address, our number? Where did we come from? Where will we go? How many names do we know? And what is our real name?
These are big questions; not small ones! If you take all these questions in a bucket, we'll see that there are many ideas around these questions.

In this heart dwells the garden, dwells the creator. In this heart dwells all the ocean, and the 9 million stars! The diamond and the jeweller to understand the importance also resides within. The diving music and the fountain is within as well. Kabir says "listen my good friend, my lord resides in this same heart of mine!"
