Interview with Prem Rawat in Peru, broadcast on Willax TV [39:18 min]
Prem Rawat, internationally known as an Ambassador of Peace, arrived in Lima to give two important conferences on the 19th and 20th of April in the Independence Hall of the Sheraton Hotel. A known humanitarian and international speaker on the subject of personal peace, Mr. Rawat has been traveling through a number of countries in South America as part of his 2012 world tour; besides Peru he visited Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Ecuador.During his visit to Lima he gave an exclusive interview to the well-known journalist and interviewer Cecilia Valenzuela from the Peruvian TV channel Willax TV. Ms. Valenzuela is a Peruvian lawyer, newspaper columnist and journalist who currently hosts the 'Look Who's Talking' program on Willax TV in Peru.
Ms. Valenzuela asked him many questions, including his views on recent nomination for Nobel Peace Prize 2012.
Elisa Cabal, who translated the interview, afterwards gave us her impressions:
"In this extraordinary interview, Prem Rawat expressed his unique and very personal views on the human heart, peace, and his commitment to taking his message to all who feel that need in their lives. I heard him speak of human dignity in terms I had not ever considered; very clear and so profound. He answered questions about the current state of the world and spoke of the endurance of the human spirit, of all that humankind has lived through and about the power of hope."

Good evening. My name is Christina Recalde
It's a pleasure to be in front of you
I had seen you on videos and
I'm amazed to be standing here asking you a question.
I am a gang leader and
also part of Peace and Respect on the Street Program.
We have seen our brothers and friends die
and we wanted all that to end.
As it says in the videos, we have our own angel which is within us,
and personally, that message has changed my life.
Thank you.
What I would like to say to you, again, is very simple. It's very simple.
You are a human being.
When you got up, I didn't know who you were,
but I knew you were a human being.
That's who you are. Learn to respect yourself.
You see, even when you were robbing people,
you knew one thing if somebody robbed you, you didn't like it.
When somebody stole something of yours, like your, you know, stole your earring or something
- "Where is that thing?!" So you knew but, it's like, you were somehow different than
the people you were robbing. But you're a human being.
Do you know that the breath that comes into you is the same breath that comes into me?
The breath says "OK, I'm coming into you." Not going "You've been bad, so, OK, 'time out'."
No! No. To become beautiful, from inside. To become strong, from inside.
If you want to be wealthy, then learn to be generous.
If you want to be strong, then learn humility.
If you want to be smart, learn simplicity.
That's what it takes. Learn simplicity.
Learn humility. If you want that strength, learn that gentleness towards yourself.
A candle has one thing that it can do, and that is, it can light other candles.
All you have to be, is the candle that lights the unlit candles.
It's better than robbing them.
Because, you know, either way they will remember you!
But one way they will remember you with fear,
and the other way they will remember you with gratitude.
You know you ended up being a gang member because you could be anybody you wanted to be.
You chose that. Can you change your mind? Of course! That's the beauty of it.
That's the beauty of it. But this time be pure of heart.
This time be pure of heart,
and that will be your strength.
Belong to the 'gang' of the really cool!
So, anybody and everybody can help, and everybody needs to. Everybody needs to.
This is a noble cause and it has been dreamt by every single civilization,
and it has been dreamt by every single society, and it is about time that it happens.
Conversation with a Cancer patient [05:03 min]
This clip has been taken from an event which took place in Barcelona on 19th Dec, 2010. Maharaji talks to a lady who is suffering from Cancer.Woman: "I'm going through Hard times because I'm ill. Nevertheless I feel so much hope and so much Joy. It's very surprising to me, I surprise myself!"
Maharaji: You have strength inside of you, hope inside of you. Dig it, and use it. Everyday! If you have cancer, Be a Cancer to the Cancer! And understand that ultimately you have to go. When? Nobody can tell you. But this illness, fight it. Fight and defeat this illness. If you can't, keep fighting it. That's the warrior in you. You thought you had to fight many wars, finally here is one war. Fight it. A warrior fights and fights and fights till the fight is no more.
You have knowledge, incredible source of strength. Why? I will tell you why. Because with this illness, your mind will come and eat you alive. Because this mind, will come and chew you up, at night, at day, every moment, beat you. Anything that can put this much distance between the mind and you is good. And knowledge can do that.
Best thing you can do, to beat this disease, is to enjoy every day. Because this is what it takes away from you. This is life. Your objective always has been since day one to enjoy every day that you have been given. No matter what happens in your life, your objective should not ever change. People get divorced, their loved ones go away. Your objective still should be the truest enjoyment of this heart. I strongly believe, thats why you were put here on the face of this earth.
