Excerpts from Events

Prem Rawat - Maharaji - Is there something worth appreciating? Is there something worth appreciating? [06:00 min] When we go to a restaurant and your bread is not warm, you say to the waiter "I would appreciate if you could bring me warm bread"
We use appreciate for every small thing, say if someone brings you glass of water, you go: "I appreciate that!"

Do you know what appreciation is? Do you have any idea what appreciation is?
Regardless of your age, this is one of the things that will not change- Appreciation! Even when you're 90 years old and you can't see so well. When your glasses are like binoculars!
The power of appreciation is not going to change. Hone in on it. Last year I was in Portland and I was coming back to the hotel after doing an event. I was looking out of the window, and there was this couple. For whatever reason, they were homeless and they laid down their bed in front of a shop. And she had biggest smile on her face. And I was like "Wow! You've lost everything. You're going to sleep outside and you're smiling!" - Appreciation!
Was that something she was looking forward too? to lose the home and sleep outside? Whatever the reason was- she was able to be happy and appreciate. That is the power of appreciation!

Is there something that is truly worth appreciating? And the answer is: Yes!
What is it? It is this moment in which this breath arrives. It is worth appreciating. The moment that you understand the simplicity of this existence, then it is worth appreciating. The moment you realize your desire to be fulfilled, then this is worth appreciating.
There is nothing you can do to remove the desire to be fulfilled. Nothing!
Your desire to be fulfilled.
Prem Rawat - Maharaji - Beauty of Existence Beauty of Existence [04:34 min] There is a saying- and I believe the saying exist without accident, that you came empty-handed, and you'll go empty handed. Why is it no accident? Because this is what people have observed, that all you've done, is left here when you've to leave.
Prem Rawat - Maharaji - Truest Nature Truest Nature [06:18 min] Prem Rawat distinguishes between appearances that change and the actual nature of a human being. “When we begin to look for our truest nature,” he says, “we will find that there is peace. In our nature, there’s understanding, there is the truest love.”
Prem Rawat - Maharaji - Seed of Kindness Seed of Kindness [03:51 min]
When we come in this world, We are given seeds. And this is of course a metaphor
But its true that we are human beings. But the opportunity truly is, what we do with these seeds. And what are these seeds?
Well we can begin with very simple stuff. One of the seeds can be the seed of kindness, There is a seed of love, there is a seed of understanding, and there is a seed of doubt, there is a seed of confusion. And it always becomes- whatever seed it is that you have sown in your garden- garden of life, garden of existence, then ultimately this is what you are going to sit under and rest, and how restful it will be, directly depends, on what kind of seed you sow.
So every seed that you have, has a particular quality, has something that it offers, but when it is sown, and when it bears itself, when it grows and becomes a tree, it is going to have very particular characteristics which you may or may not like.
I am not here to pass judgement, nor am I here to try to advertise what kind of seed it is that you should have sown.
I think that if I merely point out some of the characteristics of these, then you are capable of making that decision for yourself, that fundamentally being human, you have enough intelligence to choose from clarity, to choose what will benefit you the most, each one of us within ourselves, carries an innate need and this need is never dictated by the world, it is our need, and it is fundamental to every human being.
This is the need that we have when we were young, it is the need that will stay there throughout our lives and will be there till the very end.
This is who we are- This is one of our natures.
Prem Rawat - Maharaji - Answers to 2 FAQs- as a Freebie! Answers to 2 FAQs- as a Freebie! [07:40 min]
  1. Where did I come from?
  2. Where am I going to go?
I'm going to give this as a freebie because this is not what I deal in, ok?
There is this (pointing to the body) and there's you (the infinite). You deal with this (the body) everyday. You take care of it whole day; you brush, you shave and do all the things, but you don't deal with infinite everyday. You're one more element than just this body- that 'Hans' that resides in you, that makes you 'you'. What is death? It is just the simple disconnect between the two.

If you recognize only as a body then the answer to the two questions are: You came from this dirt and you're going back to dirt. Not so glamorous, but true.

And if happen to be so lucky, to recognize the infinite in you then I've got good news for you. That's where you came from and that's where you gonna go!
Prem Rawat - Maharaji - The Possibility to Play The Possibility to Play [08:00 min] You are the owner of an instrument that only you can play, you are the only one who can perceive the beauty of its music with every breath you take. The story never told is your own, don’t forget. The beginning and the end are already known: one day you took your first breath and the day will come when you’ll stop breathing; meanwhile, remember you have a priceless instrument and the possibility to play it.
Prem Rawat - Maharaji - Ask yourself Will today be the day? Ask yourself "Will today be the day?" [01:33 min] I know you have asked yourselves so many questions, and so many questions will still come your way. But ask yourselves this question one day, when you really feel like it- Will today be the day that I will feel peace?
Will today be the day I will feel immeasurable joy?
Will today be the day that I will understand the value of my existence?
WIll today be the day when my heart will sing in its real Gratitude- "Thank you"
I want that in MY life! And I want that in my life for ME!
Prem Rawat - Maharaji - It’s About You and Me It’s About You and Me [03:51 min] I am here to talk about something very simple but at the same time it touches every one of us and it is about this journey, this life, this existence. Not an idea, not a theory, not rules, not some printed pages but about you and me. Because the most incredible thing thats taking place is not all the things that you read in the newspaper, it is not a thing which is there in your library. And this important thing is that "You are alive!", now what? What does it mean to you? We have interpretations of what it means to be alive. The focus is not about those things, the focus is your existence, your being on the face of this earth. This will never happen again. The house that you live in, other ones will live in it. What is yours? What is it that you consider truly yours that no one can take away from you? Do you know it?
Prem Rawat - Maharaji - The Core Is You The Core Is You [03:37 min] To understand in this life, to understand your existence. There is a big difference between shadow and you. Even though the shadow is cast by you, you are not your shadow. When the sun goes down, the shadow will not be there, but you will be. And this is the distinction. These things exists because I exist but these are not my existence. All these things I rely upon exist because of me but I do not exist because of them. The Core is You. You exist. And because you exist there are certain things that also exist, and how unfortunate it is that we start associate ourselves with those things and pretty soon we say, "Well, they are me. I am them." They are there, but you are not. Your life, your understanding, your steps, your journey, your elation and your filling of heart is the process of contentment.
Prem Rawat - Maharaji - A Witness to Beauty A Witness to Beauty [03:10 min] Prem Rawat talks about a way to look within, where people can be introduced to themselves. "If you ever want to see a wonder", he says, "I suggest you take a look at yourself. Not the concepts, not the ideas, not the goods, not the bads. But a timeless purity of existence. A witness to the beauty that is."
