Sondrio and Padova (Italy) and Brussels (Belgium) June 2010 [05:56 min] "Peace is not impossible; it is very possible. From personal fulfillment to our collective compassion for humanity, we can make tremendous strides."
On June 22 in the Piazza Garibaldi, a peaceful village square lying in the heart of the city of Sondrio, Italy, in the foothills of the Alps, Prem Rawat was greeted by the town's mayor, Alcide Molteni, along with Marina Cotelli, Town Hall Alderman.

Two days later, he arrived in the city of Padua, one of the oldest and noblest cities in northern Italy, to speak at the impressive Teatro Verdi, which first became a cultural forum in 1751. Hosted by the Town Hall of Padua, Province of Padua, and the Region of Veneto, he was greeted by presenter Angelo Baiguera with a message of goodwill from Giorgio Napolitano, President of the Italian Republic, expressing appreciation and best wishes. After Prem Rawat spoke, he was presented with the seal of the city of Padua, as well as a plaque commending the work of The Prem Rawat Foundation.

On June 29, at the invitation of Gianni Pittella, first Vice President of the European Parliament, Prem Rawat was the keynote speaker at a conference entitled "Words of Peace for Europe." Held in the prestigious setting of the European Parliament building in Brussels, the event was introduced by Vice President Pittella and included a talk by Pavel Borodin, State Secretary of the Union of Russia and Belarus, and a message of good wishes for the event from Giorgio Napolitano, President of the Republic of Italy.

Events of 2008 [09:36 min] A review video of some events held in 2008. Maharaji spoke at 78 events in 40 cities of 18 countries. For doing all these events, he flew himself, travelling around 90,000 nautical miles. Events began with four day event in Israel. There were many events held during pre-summers in India too. The Ageless [09:35 min] This body (Nartan) is the vessel to go across this ocean. The coming and the going of the breath is the blessing. What you need, is the master with strong arms who can row the boat across. Doesn't matter where it comes from, I like it! Because it is a simple formula for very complex things in the world. This is the vessel (pointing to the self). Journey from unfulfillment to fulfilment- that's the ocean.

Salvage [09:54 min] To come and be inspired, because I have touched in you the true voice of reason, that the reason is from your heart. Thats what inspiration is. Inspiration is to touch that voice of reasoning, that reason spelled by the heart.
When you leave this world, what do you think you will take with you, when you wont even be able to your own body. Such a definitive distinction between that real you and the you you think you are. Now why am I telling you this? To scare you, No. This is what is going to happen. The idea is to take as much as possible, salvage as much as possible, before this happens.

Simply Amazing! [10:37 min] Is it possible for me in my life to keep such a company of that one most beautiful thing that I begin to take on the traits of it. Thats the significance of what I am saying. That if I in my life allow and keep the company of ignorance then I too, will take on, the characteristics of ignorance. I just said that maybe this will give us hope and this is what I mean by giving us hope that if I keep the company of clarity, then I too in my life will begin to take on the characteristics, the qualities of clarity. Thats the hope.
For me, if I want to have that beautiful aroma of understanding in my life, then I need to keep the company of understanding. That if I want to glow in the glow coming from the brightness then I too need to keep the company of the light. If I do, it is possible to pick up on those characteristics. And if this is remotely possible. Just happens to be this much true. Wow! What a possibility exists in my life.
One thing Kabir does say, that the master is a washerman and the student is the cloth. The soap, is knowledge. And when on the stone of practice, this cloth is washed with that soap of knowledge again and again and again and again. The cloth begins to sparkle. Lot of people think that the invention of cloth-washing soap, the concept, the big advertising, "It Sparkles", came recently. No, the idea of the sparkling cloth came a long time ago. But it was’nt just a piece of cloth of cotton, it was you. And look at it in its entirety, without giving it interpretation. What Kabir is saying is, you need to sparkle, you need to shine bright. Because that is your potential, that is your possibility.
Listen to the human being that you are. What is your need? Your truest need is to be content. Thats your truest need. That there is a thirst that each one of you has. And you may not be aware of it. But you know about it. A quest to be fulfilled, to be in peace. And how beautiful is that. Keep the right company and you will take on, soak in the traits. Then keep the company of knowledge. Keep the company of remembrance of this breath and you will begin to remember this breath. Keep the company of light and you will begin to glow in that light. This is what you need to do. Because this is the true transformation of human being, transforming back to being a "Being", a true being, existence. Not all the other things that happen.
To be in this life, to be simple. To be in this life, to be conscious. You want to avoid problems in your life, just be conscious. One second of being conscious, can save you a whole lifetime of trouble. Just one second. Knowledge is a powerful thing, amazingly powerful. You have it. Listening to the master is an amazinlgly powerful thing and this is available to you.

The Presence [07:04 min] Why do I forget what is important? What am I saving for the last? The possibility of being in peace, am I saving it for the last? Time up! Change your plans, change of plans are required. Peace, without which, we would lose the very fabric of who we are. Peace that dances in the heart of everyone, thats the peace I am talking about.
The reality, the beauty, the joy, the true peace. Not an absence of something, but the very presence of something. Not an abstract concept. No, you have the last word. You have to feel that feeling in your life. Look at this existence, look at this little thing happening, it is amazing, it is unique. You know there is no one like you on the face of this whole world, not even if you have a twin. Slightly different. There is no one like you and there will be no one like you after you go. This is your time to make that understanding happen. To begin to understand.
And here is the concrete thing, to start to realize that all that you ever want, you have. Begin by understanding it and every day remembering, what is important to you, as a human being. That you were born and you are alive and thats it, you are alive. That is a blessing unparalleled. And I just wanted to come and remind you of that. Because in times of trouble we forget and what do we forget, we forget the most important thing. And thats what gets the center of trouble. You know this. Everything what I have said you know. And not only you need to know, but now is the time to understand that. You know peace is beautiful but now the time has come to actually feel that peace in your life.
And nobody is too young and nobody is too old. Never, because this is the matter of life. One life, one existence, one incredible gift, this existence that you have been given.

What is being taught? The value of each breath is being taught. The value of this existence is being taught. When I feel that true Gratitude, it evokes me, not a society, not an idea or concepts. When I say all this, it is not meant to be just words, it has to be real for you. Thats when it matters. So many of you have come here, and it's been a while since you have been to a live event. It wonderful to be here, to see each other eye to eye and say "It's not a TV". Because you are alive, be alive!

Lady: I just would like to thank you for everything you have done in my life. But mostly today I would like to thank you for the human effort. Your presence, attention, commitment makes this happen. To me it was so special!

Another: I just wanted to tell you how absolutely beautiful my life has been and continues to be, since I first heard you and received knowledge 25 years back. I just feel so proud when I see your press release, what you have done around the world, whether speaking at Italian Parliament, or what you have done for the Tsunami.

Maharaji: Thank you very much, but I dint do anything for the Tsunami. What can I do with Tsunami, Tsunami is already over. But I did something for the victims of the Tsunami! TPRF is doing some Good stuff and trying to take care of people who need the help. Clean water and food are very very important. The greatest gift you can give anyone is the gift of joy. The Gift of peace is the greatest gift you can given anybody- Hungry or not hungry, believe me. Peace Rules!
